The New Year is a great time of year to take stock, make improvements and assess your current situation. For business owners, this is also true in many respects. From procedures and employee reviews to accounting and marketing, business owners often have to tweak and sometimes overhaul many of these areas. This should also include taking a look at their business signage. Here is a New Year Signage Checklist that you may find helpful in doing that.

- Make an necessary repairs
: Sometimes repairs to business signs
can be put on the back-burner for more pressing issues. Putting off repairs can have serious repercussions, including further damage, more expensive repairs later and turning off customers.
- Set up a maintenance schedule:
Signs require proper maintenance. Setting up a set maintenance schedule with a reputable sign company
is a good idea if you want to your signs to last.
- Clean your signs
: Signs can often be overlooked when it comes to cleaning. Just like you clean your floors, desks and restrooms, your signs need to be cleaned periodically too. Be sure to follow recommended guidelines when cleaning your signs. It may be best to use a trusted professional who specializes in cleaning commercial signage.
- Removed outdated signage:
Be sure any outdated signs and/or banners are removed. You should never have signs with old logos, dated promotions or stale marketing posted inside or outside your business.
- Replace any burned out bulbs: All of your commercial signs should be fully lit. Burned out bulbs can greatly decrease the effectiveness and attractiveness of your signage.
